The challenge
Hearthside Living sells across two storefronts and a marketplace while stock truth lives in NetSuite. The nightly sync ran every six hours, so peak season brought oversells, refund churn and a warehouse team reconciling against a spreadsheet. Customer service answered every order question by toggling between three systems.
What we built
We built a custom NetSuite integration on the Shopify Admin API. Orders flow out in near real time with payment and shipping detail, inventory levels flow back per location, and customers sync both ways with de duplication rules finance approved. A queue with retries and a dead letter alert replaced the cron job, and a daily reconciliation report compares both systems every morning.
